We test the workings of all marine radio equipment VHF, SSB, GMDSS DSC, Inmarsat C & AIS with calibrated testing equipment including the testing of the 406 MHz EPIRBs, SART and ship’s batteries powering the radio equipment.

TAF assists the Ministry of Communications in carrying out field frequency analysis to ensure that frequencies assigned are free of external interference.

TAF joined the Honorable Prime Minister and the Minister responsible for Communications at the National Universal Service Launch, reaffirming the Government’s commitment to strengthening digital inclusion and connectivity across Fiji.

The National Universal Service Launch brought together Government leaders and TAF representatives to advance a shared vision of connecting underserved communities and ensuring that all Fijians can participate in the digital future.

TAF representatives met with the Roko Tui to discuss local telecommunications needs and strengthen collaboration to extend reliable, accessible connectivity to communities within the province.

TAF engaged directly with community members and key stakeholders to better understand their connectivity needs, challenges and priorities. These consultations help ensure that telecommunications initiatives respond to the realities of the communities they are designed to serve.

Through ongoing engagement with provincial representatives and community leaders, TAF continues to build partnerships that support inclusive, sustainable and community-centred telecommunications development throughout Fiji.

The approved network is specific to a site or radius and cannot be transferred to another site or other users without the approval of the Authority.

Yes, TAF does impose regulatory requirements as per the equipment type approval procedure.

All ICT apparatuses/equipment which connects directly to an ICT & telecommunication network and/or transmits radio waves is subject to TAF’s type approval requirements.
