TAF License Application Checklist
A simple guide for everyone
1. Your Details
- Individuals: Full name, address, phone, email.
- Companies: Business name, registration number, address, contact details, list of directors/shareholders.
2. Identification
- Individuals: Copy of valid ID or passport.
- Companies: List of directors and shareholders (if required).
3. Equipment Info
- Brand, model, and serial numbers.
- Technical documents (manuals, certificates, test reports).
- Battery expiry dates (for safety gear like EPIRB, SART).
4. Supporting Documents (Varies by License)
- Police clearance (for Amateur Radio).
- Approval from other authorities (e.g., CAAF for aircraft).
- Deregistration certificate (if vessel bought overseas).
- Vessel or aircraft registration details.
Maritime Note: Tell TAF immediately if your vessel’s name or owner changes.
5. Frequencies & Inspections
- Frequencies are managed by TAF’s Fee Schedule.
- For renewals: TAF will send an invoice with your current frequencies.
- Want to add/remove radios? Tell TAF before paying.
- After payment, TAF engineers will inspect your equipment.
- Annual inspection schedules will be published so you know when they’re visiting your area.
6. Pay Your Fees
- Fee varies by license type. Examples:
- Import Permit: FJ$10 + 12.5% VAT per model
- Aeronautical License: FJ$20 + 12.5% VAT
- Equipment Type Approval: FJ$100 + 12.5% VAT (local)
Overseas payments: + $15 bank fee
- Keep your receipt!
- Pay at Post Fiji, TAF office, or online.
7. Sign & Date
- Sign the application form.
- Include your name, position (if applying for a company), and date.
8. Submit Your Application
- Send the completed form with all documents attached.
- You’ll get an official acknowledgement from TAF.
Tip: Double-check everything before submitting! Missing info can delay your approval.
